Love the Saint!

This weekend on one of my little outings, we stopped at the beautiful garden and home of the famous American Reinaissance Sculptor Saint Gaudens.
Over 100 of his artworks can be seen in the galleries, from heroic public monuments to expressive portrait reliefs, and the gold coins which changed the look of American coinage.

Partly Cloudy and 69 Degrees

Our temperatures have been hanging in the very low numbers this summer with a rain shower nearly every other day.  I have been pulling out out of my bag of tricks, all of my indoor activities  to keep everyone happy, since swimming and sunscreen are not even an option this season.  I’m not complaining though, [...]

Happily Ever After

So yesterday, I talked about trying to get it together with the younger kids and I did just that.  We kicked off the day with a visit to The Palace Theater for a performance of Cinderella.  It’s not London’s West End, and only an hour performance, but it did the job and entertained the kids. [...]

Nothing is Better than Hands On Learning

Day 2 of my spontaneous trip to Burlington, VT proved equally as fun as Day 1, and the sun continued to shine! My number one thing on the agenda was a stop at the Echo Lake Aquarium and Science Center on Lake Champlain.  No doubt about it, hands on science is my favorite type of [...]

Good for Your Mind Summer List

So many literary figures, so little time.  New England is jam packed with Hawthorne, Emerson, Alcott, Thoreau and the list goes on…..Every summer I like to take in a few enriching sites, so …….
As a little refresher my requirements for summer activities must meet my criteria of

Good for the mind
Uplifting the spirit
Enriching the soul

Each list [...]
