Party Planning

Do you ever feel like a train headed for train wreck status? That describes my last 48 hours. 4 kids- 4 different education plans, Halloween that feels like Christmas. I just have a way of complicating my life. Honestly! I really do and I don’t mean too.

For instance I signed up to be Noah’s room mom partially because I spend so much time with the older kids and he is in public school. I have been his “room mother” every year. So I said YES again this year sort of out of guilt. Sure I have a policy that I am not going to feel guilty when I say no- but I know he loves me there and so I said yes!
It is like pulling teeth to get parents to participate. The downside of the job. Party is planned and creeping up.

Not to mention, the fact that I have come up with 4 Halloween costumes pronto- and have the kids agree to WANT to wear them for the church party tomorrow night.

I promised the older kids they could have a little Halloween bash at the house Friday night- so I am rummaging up some menu and fun for that!

Don’t forget good ol trick or treat on Saturday.

Halloween has become like Christmas!

So here are a couple of the photos of the food to be served on Friday- If you have any terrific ideas- please speak up!15435_163660394270_643654270_2601315_8269099_n

Look at this cake my cousin made last weekend- I am not doing this and opting for the graveyard cake, but take a look.

Here is simpler thing I can pull off and isn’t quite so gruesome-

The kids will love these Hot Dog Mummies

  • Cute! Those are fun decorations. At our party Saturday we gutted small pumpkins and put salsa in them and had chips and salsa. Also put the ranch in for the veggies…but I love how your doing it like the pumpkin is throwing up! Ha ha…good times! Wow, it’s hard enough to come up with 1 costume, let alone for 4 kids!

  • I’m very glad you decided against the body cake.

  • Can I just tell you that body cake is danged nasty! Eeeeuw!! Glad you opted out of that one. So, do you have a need to put ridiculous amounts of pressure on yourself. Good grief woman. Go by some chips and salsa and call it a day!! If you make just one fun thing and set it out they’lll love it. Give yourself a break already! Also, this might be the year they get store bought costumes from Walmart! Every once in a while, somethings gotta give. While you’ve got the energy go for it. Just make sure it’s the stuff they’ll remember.

  • Love the pumpkin with dip. And there are just no words for that body cake. Love the mummies though, I’m going to try to make some this year. I’m just glad my kids aren’t to the party-requesting stage just yet. I did decide this was not the year for homemade costumes, although I still ending up making one. Just one though! Have a great holiday!
